Pacific Ocean™ E-112 The Eurpean Union mandate states: “Member States shall ensure that undertakings which operate public telephone networks make caller location information available to authorities handling emergencies, to the extent technically feasible, for all calls to the single European emergency call number 112” (2002/22/EC,2003/558/EC) The Pacific Ocean E-112 product provides Telecom operators and PSAP’s (public service answering point) with functionality to handle positioning requests , including privacy protection of the subscribers. The privacy protection in Pacific Ocean E-112 provides the Telecom operators and PSAP’s with functionality to meet the requirements stated in EC directive (2002/58/EC) . The Pacific Ocean E-112 product is based on technology from Mobilaris’ proven service management platform Pacific Ocean™, commercially deployed around the world. Key features: Locator functionality to handle location requests according to approved standards. Support for multiple operator networks Privacy protection - when speaking about location of individuals, the operator must guarantee protection of every individual’s privacy according to EC directives. The Emergency centers can only position phone numbers that have called to the emergency center. The Telecom operator or the PSAPS can set up the system to automatically prompt the subscriber that they have been positioned and by whom they have been positioned. (SMS, MMS) Statistics – Full logging of all traffic flows in the system to create precise and time-stamped data of service usage. Scalable - With the Pacific Ocean E-112 in place, the operator can easily upgrade the system to a full service management platform and reuse the investment for commercial mass-market location-based services
